It was built between 1906 and 1917 taking advantage of the urban transformation of the city in the late nineteenth century to settle in an enormous lot remaining. It is one of the most important monuments of civil architecture of the city. The project, designed by architect Demetrio Ribes is part of the modernist style, where there are the influences of European aspect of the Secession, Modernism is characterized by a straight line as opposed to more typical forms of modernism winding Valencia.

The main entrance to the station is located on Calle Xativa 24, but have other access Bailen street corner Marzal Math. The set of tracks and building is flanked by Alicante and dance in the streets east and west respectively and Játiva north. To the south runs the common beam rail lines that depart from the station terminal.

It is well connected with the network of MetroValencia, with two of its stations (Xàtiva and dance) within the precincts of the station and another (Plaça Espanya) a few minutes walk from the station. If you want to travel to other cities of Spain, you can go to “Estación del Nord” or “Joaquin Sorolla”. These two stations are connected with all the outside areas of Valencia, and with small villages around the city.
